Tryout and general information

The Washburn Volleyball program has great interest and support. The number of players interested in being a Miller Volleyball player has grown the last few years.

Based on our tryout numbers, some players may not be placed on a team. Our program can sustain about 45 to 50 players (4 or 5 teams of about 10).

2017 TEAMS (determined at the end of tryouts)

  • Varsity: Top level team and is highly competitive.
  • JV: Second-most skilled team generally made up of players in grades 9 through 11
  • B Squad: Third-most skilled team generally made up of players in grades 9 and 10
  • C Squad: Primarily 9th grade players. The team may be split into a 9A and 9B team to accommodate more players.

The coaching staff strives to:

  • Provide leadership and excellent instruction
  • Maintain a safe environment for our players to practice and compete in
  • Offer a fair team selection process and, if there’s a need, promote players from one team to the next
  • Give support to those players that have collegiate playing aspirations by providing general information to them and their families
